Jesus Himself gave a good synopsis in Revelation 1:19. He appeared to John on the Isle of Patmos and said, basically, “Get a pen and a piece of papyrus and write down, first of all, the things which you have seen.” That’s what chapter 1 is about: John saw the glorified Christ.
