Dr. Jeffress offers message of hope to Texas flood victims

I joined FOX & Friends this morning from Kerrville, Texas, to share the Bible’s message of hope after devastating floods in Texas take the lives of more than 80 people.

The world we are living in right now is not the world God intended for us. But the good news is Jesus Christ is going to return one day, and He will wipe away every tear from our eyes. In this world, death is real and it’s painful, but thank God it’s not final. For Christians, for these children who died, their deaths are not the end of their stories. We will see them again in heaven. That’s the hope of the Christian faith.

The tragedy of this flood reminds me of the words of Joe Bayly, a father who endured the unimaginable loss of three children. In his book The View from a Hearse, he said that when we can’t reconcile our loss with our faith in God, we have a choice: we can either give up our faith or keep believing in God in the dark. True faith takes on its deepest meaning when exercised in the darkness.

Right now, families across Texas are walking through that darkness. But they are not walking alone. And neither are you. Even when we cannot see God’s hand, we can still trust His heart.
