The tragedy in Dallas is symptomatic of the lawlessness in our country that is being fueled by a disrespect for police — a disrespect that should be strongly denounced by all leaders, beginning with the President of the United States.
Please join me in praying for the fallen officers and their families. Pray for the wounded officers, their families, and the medical teams attempting to save their lives. Pray for our city and our nation to turn away from violence and back toward God.
God promises to be close to the brokenhearted, to be our source of courage, helping us through all situations. This is a time to admit that all of us desperately need God’s help. God’s arms never tire of holding His children.
The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
And His ears are open to their cry.
The face of the Lord is against evildoers,
To cut off the memory of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the Lord hears
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit.
-Psalm 34:15-18 (NASB)
The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you
-Deuteronomy 33:27 (NLT)
