Where There’s a Will, There’s a Body

The sacrificial system under the Old Agreement was just like our present tax system. It was costly–people had to pay for animal sacrifices for their sins. It was complicated–just read the book of Leviticus to discover the cumbersome regulation s regarding those sacrifices. And it was continual. There was always another sacrifice to offer, just as there is aways another tax to pay. But then God said “I am going to make a new arrangement or covenant with you. I am going to provide the sacrifice through my Son, Jesus Christ. Unbelievably, the majority of people rejected that offer and stayed with the old system–which never could remove sin anyway. But even more amazingly a number of those who opted for  the new system, were considering returning to the old system. And that is where the book of Hebrews comes in.
